This year’s theme for Nampa Parade America is Freedom Isn’t Free. One group of people who know this better than anyone is Gold Star Mothers.
Gold Star Mothers are mothers who have lost a child in service to America while they were serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their sacrifice is immeasurable, and their strength is an inspiration. These mothers carry forward the legacy of their fallen heroes, supporting one another and giving back to their communities in honor of their loved ones.
We proudly honor Gold Star Mothers to show gratitude for their sacrifice and ensure that their sons and daughters are never forgotten. By standing with them, we honor the courage, service, and ultimate price paid for our freedoms.
We strongly encourage our community to join us in honoring these families, whether by attending events, volunteering, or simply taking a moment to remember the sacrifices made for our freedoms.
Since September 11, 2001, Idaho has had 86 men and women who lost their lives while serving our country.
